Rare colour picture....What KDF ship is it?
From my humble archive I wanted to share this image taken by a German officer on a KDF cruise in Norway in 1939, only one year after the colour film was released to the commercial marked by Agfa! It is impossible to read the name on the original slide and I have tried to look for KDF boats ever since I got this image, but I only get the usual hits like Wilhelm Gustlov, Monte Rosa, Monte Olivia, Cordoba, etc. They do not look like this elegant ship at all. Anyone want to take a guess or know the ship? Click the image to make it larger!

Try a search on the net, searching for German Ship archive or similar. You might get a hit. There you might find an e-mail adress to someone who can help you.

I had a quick peek through the postcard-collection of the Nord-Deutsche Lloyd ships but found no decisive match. The closest match were either the Gneisenau (1935) or the Potsdam (1935) though I unfortunately wind up with one lifeboat too much. Of course, the ship's appearance could have been altered and so forth made the postcard inaccurate. Still, I can't say anything decisive.
What I dare say is that the design of this ship suggest a modern design and so forth you could exclude ships from before, well I'd say before the 1920's.
