Welcome to our new and improved forum!!

Post by Admin on Thu 6 Mar 2008 - 16:23

Finally, we have opened a new, spamfree forum!
With good help from our friend in kystfort.com, Erik H, we have made every effort to make this forum as usefriendly as possible. We have smilies, easy "add picture" feature and much more!
Please let us know about your experience of this forum, good or bad.
Once again welcome and enjoy!

I am still trying to include the old forum into this new, but the old forum is way back in the stoneage. I am not even sure its smart to do so if one had a lot of problems with spam etc. Its allways best to go ahead and have a new start.
There is still some work to be done here, but there shuld be no problems with writing and posting.

There is safe way to bring back the old forum to this new one.. and that is Copy/paste.. could be a lot of work, but atleast no security problems. Perhaps copy/paste the most resent posts?

Best wishes for the new forum, spam free and all :-)
New possibilities as well, dividing into topics etc ... Very Happy
Hopefully the "back issues" can be added on a later stage, or maybe i the form of a searchable web page ...?

Best regards,
Ketil

back issues

Post by Ketil Svendsen on Mon 10 Mar 2008 - 0:56

I was merely thinking about all the information in the thousands of posts in the old forum! It's brilliant for searching purposes :-)
Even if they cannot be imported into the new forum, having them online - and searchable - would be very nice ...

take care,
Ketil

I have several links on my website directly to postings in the old forum - is there a *simple* way whereby I can fix these so that they still work?

No, unfortunally the german forum server closed down their server, so none of your links will work. Crying or Very sad

Sigh!!!!

Would you let me know if you ever manage to add the old postings to this one somehow? I'd hate to see all that information go to waste, and at least that way I could copy and paste the relevant info from it to my own pages where I previously linked (with due credit, of course).
